GAGA brings the monster ball to the uk

Thats right Monsters! lady GAGA is now touring in the UK with her Monster Ball

The updated version of the tour kicked off in Manchester on the 18th February and tours up and down the UK until March 8th. Gaga has already won 3 brit awards this we and from this tour we can see why !

The electro opera consists of 15 costume changes, and anamatronic sea monster and a grand piano the burns.

Alphabeat - The beat is ...

Here at POPhaven weve been lucky enough to grab a listen to the new alphabeat album. Origionally relesed in Europe at the back end of 2009 and entitled the spell Alphabeat are set to unleash their new offering to the UK March 1st.

The two singles released from the album "The spell" and " Hole in my heart" so far have allowed alphabeat to fly away from the "Fascination" band that everybody knows them for and bring two singles that bring a flavour of the forthcoming LP.

“It’s very influenced by a lot of the dance music from the early 90s” says Anders. “We just really fell in love with that genre. We were very open-minded. We put down references of what we wanted to try and do. And that just became a big blueprint sound for the album.” - Anders SG

Here are some of our favourites:

The beat is ... - a cool number with electronic beats, synths and vocals. Gives an early indication on the record that this is a more mature sound from the fantastic 6!

Dj - a disco number. This track provides the same Chemistry we had from anders and Stine on "this is alphabeat" This is no doubt going to be a song played at G-A-Y every night and certainly a hit with the gay audiences. It's got hit written all over it !! need something you can dance to? you will with this !!!

Chess - Returning to alphabeat kookyness - Chess proves the band are still in touch with their roots - this song would fit into the first album for sure - Great Vocal from stine on this one

Heart Failure - A massive POP anthem worthy of a top ten hit !!!

Love them or hate them ! Jedward are set to storm the Charts in the coming weeks with a mashup cover version of Vanilla Ice’s ICE ICE Baby and Queens Under pressure. John and Edward stormed the headlines at the back end of 2009 on the Xfactor managing to survive the public vote week after week even though the public hated them. This song has no surprises and does exactly what it says in the title. With Vanilla Ice backing the "terrible" twins on the track it adds something to the track however its nothing that we havn't seen before in the way of cheesy one hit wonders. Whether or not the twins will gain this title is yet to be seen. Again only the public can decide their fate.
